Crazy Soles Running/Yoga Store was opened in March 2008 by Jordie & Beva Kirk.

We opened our little store to fill the need for service and gear for the runners, walkers, yoga practitioners and people of the Columbia Valley.  This narrow focus allows us to stay true to our goals and priorities.  If you can’t use it running or for yoga you won’t find it in our store.

Our top priority is to ensure everyone has the “right” gear for their activity.  We do this by providing professional shoe fitting and carrying only high quality clothing, accessories and nutritional products.  We also work closely with other professionals in the valley (physiotherapists, chiropractors, massage therapists etc) to supply products that will assist with their client’s recovery and well being.  Every athlete deserves to have the right gear, when a customer leaves our store they leave with the right gear.

Our other priority is to support the local athletic community.  We provide a weekly free group trail run, sponsor running and triathlon events, organize the “Crazy Soles Nipika Trail Run” (held in May), and provide Trail Running Camps and Clinics.  This allows us a chance to make the Columbia Valley a better place to be an athlete.

We ourselves are avid trail runners, snowshoe runners, mountain bikers, hikers, x/c skiers and adventurers along with our two little boys.

About Beva:

I’m an experienced Runner, X/C Skier, Mountain & Road Cyclist, I’ve dabbled in Triathlon and am proud to say I’ve coached many recreational athletes. I’m a mother of two active boys and it’s very important to me to maintain an active lifestyle amongst my busy schedule of running the store. My passion is in trail running which derived from my love of mountain biking for the purity of the sport.  Trail running offers less impact on the body specifically on the joints because of the softness of the terrain.  It is also very healthy for your brain. It has to be active in every step you take in order for you to maintain proper footing. It keeps me from becoming bored and allows me to go places cars cannot!

With my Fitness Leadership background I am able to provide great insight into the correct fit of a running shoe and from there, determine how much support is needed for our customers.

My goal this year is to do an ultra trail run.

About Jordie:

I started running recreationally in University and haven’t stopped.  The beauty of running is the ease and flexibility of the sport, all you really need is shoes and you can adapt it to any schedule.
For me trail running seemed like the next best thing to mountain biking, my other sport of choice along with telemark skiing, cross country skiing and snowshoe running.  I figure if a sport isn’t fun why bother, being out on the trails is always fun since it is so unpredictable.
I have always liked “stuff”, so opening a store seemed like a great idea.  My passion of researching products to find the best value for my needs has transferred over to the selections we carry very well.
My goal this year is to balance a life of family, work, school and training!  I don’t plan on sleeping…..
